Why I started this

A familiar face for older people who deserve more than a quick check-in.

I started Egham Elderly Companionship because I have seen how many older people spend long hours alone, even when they are deeply loved by their families.

Many families are doing their best, but work, family life, distance, and daily responsibilities make it hard to be there as often as they would like. I wanted to create a service that gives older people more than a quick check-in. I wanted to offer time, conversation, reassurance, and a familiar face they can trust.

Care and nursing background

Years of care experience, gently guiding every visit.

My background is in care, support work, and nursing. I worked as a carer and support worker for around eight years before becoming a nurse. I am now a Registered Learning Disability Nurse, RNLD, with experience supporting vulnerable adults, understanding wellbeing, building trust, and communicating with families and professionals.

This background helps me notice the small things that matter. Changes in mood, confidence, routine, appetite, engagement, or general wellbeing can say a lot. Egham Elderly Companionship is not a clinical service, but it is gently guided by professional care experience.

Why this service is small and personal

One familiar face. Gentle support. Peace of mind for families.

This service is small and personal on purpose.

Families often worry about different people coming in and out of their loved one's home. Older people need familiarity, patience, and trust. That is why this service focuses on consistent companionship, unhurried visits, and a relationship that can grow over time.

The aim is simple. One familiar face. Gentle support. Clear communication. Peace of mind for families.

What we stand for

The values behind every visit.

Trust

Every visit should feel safe, respectful, and reassuring.

Consistency

Older people deserve a familiar companion, not a rota of strangers.

Dignity

Support should never make someone feel small, rushed, or like a task.

Warmth

Companionship should feel natural, kind, and human.

Independence

The goal is to help older people stay confident, connected, and comfortable at home.

Family peace of mind

Families should feel informed, reassured, and able to breathe a little easier.

What families should expect

Calm, respectful, thoughtful, and shaped around your loved one.

Families can expect a calm, respectful, and thoughtful service. Before visits begin, we take time to understand your loved one's personality, routines, interests, needs, and preferences.

Visits can include conversation, companionship, light practical support, gentle outings, hobbies, mealtime company, and wellbeing check-ins. After visits, families can receive a short update so they know how their loved one seemed and what was enjoyed together.

Egham Elderly Companionship is a companionship and support service. It is not a CQC-registered care provider and does not provide personal care, nursing care, clinical treatment, or medication administration.
