Services

Gentle companionship and light support, built around your loved one's routine.

Every visit is calm, respectful, and personal. The aim is to help older people feel less alone, more connected, and supported in the small everyday moments that matter.

What we offer

Unhurried visits, shaped around the person.

Egham Elderly Companionship offers unhurried visits for older people who would benefit from a familiar face, kind conversation, and gentle support at home or out in the community.

The service is small and personal on purpose. Visits are shaped around your loved one's personality, interests, routine, and what helps them feel comfortable.

How we help

Quiet, thoughtful companionship, shaped around your family.

Companionship visits

Conversation, a cup of tea, and a familiar face. Gentle company at home or in the garden.

A calm visit focused on company, listening, conversation, and emotional reassurance. This can include sitting together, talking through the day, reading, watching a favourite programme, or spending time in the garden.

Shopping & errands

Help with the weekly shop, the post office, or picking up a prescription.

Gentle practical support with small everyday errands. This can include going together to local shops, helping write a shopping list, collecting simple items, or offering company during errands.

Appointment company

A calm, attentive companion for GP, hospital, or hairdresser appointments.

Support to attend appointments with more confidence. This includes company before, during, and after the appointment, help with getting there, and a reassuring presence throughout.

Hobbies & interests

Time for music, gardening, puzzles, photo albums, and the things that bring joy.

Visits shaped around the hobbies and interests your loved one enjoys. This might include puzzles, music, gentle gardening, looking through photo albums, reading, crafts, or simple activities that help the day feel brighter.

Wellbeing check-ins

Quiet, nurse-led observation of wellbeing. Never clinical, always reassuring.

A gentle check-in focused on how your loved one seems during the visit. This is not clinical care, but professional experience helps notice changes in mood, confidence, routine, appetite, engagement, or general wellbeing.

Mealtime company

Help preparing a light meal and the comfort of someone to share it with.

Support around simple mealtimes, such as preparing tea, making a sandwich, warming a light meal, or sitting together while your loved one eats. The focus is companionship, comfort, and routine.

Family updates

A short, thoughtful note to family after every visit, so loved ones feel close.

Families can receive a simple update after visits, sharing what was enjoyed, how their loved one seemed, and anything worth noting. This helps families feel reassured without needing to chase.

Respite for family

Time for family carers to rest, knowing someone trusted is there.

Gentle support for families who need a break, time for errands, appointments, work, or rest. Your loved one receives company and reassurance while family carers get breathing space.

Light housekeeping

A helping hand with light tidying, washing up, changing bed linen, or keeping things comfortable at home.

Light, practical help to keep the home feeling comfortable. This can include small tasks such as washing up, light tidying, changing bed linen, or helping keep everyday spaces pleasant.

Walks & outings

Gentle trips out for fresh air, a cafe visit, or a familiar local walk together.

Support to get out of the house in a calm and enjoyable way. This may include short walks, visiting a cafe, going to a garden centre, or returning to familiar local places.

Memory & life story time

Time spent looking through photos, sharing memories, and enjoying meaningful conversation.

A gentle way to support connection, identity, and conversation. This may include looking through photo albums, talking about life stories, listening to memories, or creating space for meaningful reflection.

Admin & everyday paperwork

A helping hand with reading post, organising letters, making simple calls, or setting aside anything family may need to review.

Practical help with small everyday paperwork and household admin. This can include reading post aloud, sorting letters, making simple phone calls, writing a shopping list, or keeping important documents in one place for family to review.

How visits are shaped

Built around the person, not a checklist.
